What Education Means to Me

The aim of education should be to teach us rather how to think, than what to think - rather to improve our minds, so as to enable us to think for ourselves, than to load the memory with thoughts of other men. ~Bill Beattie

I love this quote. I have witnessed teachers getting frustrated because their student didn't perceive something as they did. This is one thing I believe all teachers should consider.

My goal would not be to make a child think like I think, but to expand their thought process.

It breaks my heart when I see a teacher getting upset because a student doesn't share their view. We should learn from children! They have the most wonderful minds and their way of thinking is beautiful and untainted.
Everyday is an adventure for children and I try to embrace that in my students!
